View Full Version : I know this is offtopic but i realy need to know!
SilverCaboose 04-22-2008, 01:35 AM At the begining of the school year I had to move heavy shop equipment because the school decided not to for some reson. Anyways in doing so i had hurt my back and thought nothing of it untill December. I had horrible, agonizing pain by this time, so i went to a Dr. to see what was up. Apparently I have two herniated discs in my lower back causing nerve impengments, I can't feel my left foot and and I have agonizing pain going down my left leg, sometimes my right leg, and always in my back. I've been taking 10 grams of Vicodin and now recently Muscle Relaxers and those are barely taking the pain away. Anyways I was just wondering, could this get worse, if so how? and what is the easiest solution to this problem because meds are becomming a hassel. I know this has nothing to do with gameing but I realy need your guys' concent here, show me some sympathy guys, I'm only 16.

you are right this is massively off topic. I say that you go back and see your Doctor and tell him whats wrong. I think I was a guy on the site called Doc, maybe he knows what to do...
...His e mail address is doc@sarcasticgamer.com
the 6th degree 04-22-2008, 05:37 AM You're from the US - why aren't you thaking someone to court over this already?
And yes - see a Doc ASAP.
photomaster94 04-22-2008, 10:59 AM this happened to a family friend resonantly, but he only herniated one disc. he is like 40 and he did it at his daughters dance party. i hope you get better soon. lets try to get doc to same something about this on the podcast. see what he remembers from his medschool training. that is he only way he could have gotten the name Doc right?
crunkhippo 04-22-2008, 11:18 AM Doctor's office, doctor's office, and more doctor's office. I'm having problems with my back right now too, but I don't think it's anywhere near as bad. He gave me painkillers and the only one that really works is my muscle relaxer.
Basically, go to a doctor, get referrals for a physical therapist, pain management specialist, and/or a chiropractor. You're still young enough that you may be able to recover from these injuries without too much permanent damage, but you have to get started and do something about it.
I can kind of see why you would ask for support and suggestions from your friends here at SG, but there's no excuse for not going to the doctor now. Especially because you have found out what's wrong. And if the first doctor says you're fine and won't give you referrals, go to another one.
Chexd 04-22-2008, 11:27 AM :( Sorry to hear that dude. I would recommend seeing your Doctor and let him no how you are feeling. Do you know how long the recovery period is?
I hope everything works out soon.

Ploogle 04-22-2008, 12:11 PM Okay, eat LOTS of maple syrup and drink plenty of iced tea. Jump up and down on one foot for 30 minutes every morning, afternoon, and evening...and see a doctor. :D
chris24680 04-22-2008, 12:17 PM all i can say is get well soon and pain relief ftw

PrimevilKneivel 04-22-2008, 12:48 PM See a doctor (see a new one if all you're getting is pills) and have the school board pay for your meds and bills, you should not be moving heavy equipment.
Get it dealt with quickly back problems get worse over time. I've never suffered from a hearniated disc but most back trouble is actually from a weak back and stomach (that's why it gets worse so fast), generally more than two or three days in bed makes the problem worse. Physio is what you need, basically they'll get you strong while ensuring you don't hurt the problem further.
I'd stay away from chiropractors, too many of them are quacks (though not all) and there is no way to tell the good ones from the bad without paying them and risking them hurting you.
I was layed up for almost two years, what should have been a two month recovery was stretched into two years because my chiropractor would rather give me a quick fix that felt good for a couple of days but kept me coming back than actually fix the problem I had.
codinthepocket 04-22-2008, 12:50 PM Reiterating a necessary point:
Go and see a doctor again! It will help...
regua 04-22-2008, 01:06 PM Help, I've broken my leg. What should I do? I've drunk some Red Bull but I didn't get those wings and now I can neither fly nor walk. I've went to the doctor and apparently I've broken my leg. What's the easiest solution to this problem, because meds are becoming a hassel? I'm only 64.
