Ok so I just read this article on IGN about Too human, I havent read much about the game but I've already watched the bad-looking trailer in the bar and I have no hopes what-so-ever even if the game could reveal itself to be a huge hit and be really fun to play.
So yeah the article was about monster variants in the game. Of course you'd be expecting something grand and inovative like most games are trying to do in the current gen, but no, ''Explosives Goblins'' and ''EMP Goblins'' (Aka , ''Kill with ranged weapon Goblin'' and ''Kill with melee weapon Goblin''). I gotta say I was expecting something more.....worth reading. I get the feeling the devs are trying to make even the most ordinary things sound like its totally inovative and fresh and hip. Things like ranged and melee attacks or even something as simple as monster variants have been done in almost every game in existance yet you read things such as:
''When “Too Human” started its early development phase for next generation platforms we really wanted to create something that was unique. One of the core game mechanics was to focus on melee and ballistic weapons and the strategies in doing so. Giving the player the option to switch between melee and firearms would have been meaningless unless it added to the experience.''
''In order to overcome this challenge we focused on the hybrid nature of the game. We focused on the concept of “variants” to achieve our gameplay goals. Everything in “Too Human” is designed around the principle of classes and variants, and what lies within each of those classes. ''
So basicly what he is saying is that Melee/ranged attacks as well as multiple enemie with different colors are the core gameplay mechanics, as opposed to something deep and original that stands out from the crowd, like I've already stated.
I dont like bashing games like this, so I'll personnaly give the game the benifit of the doubt , concidering they've had problems with the engine and maybe they don't have anything solid to show us at the moment, but for now I'm pretty disapointed in what I've read and seen so far since the game only looks like a mech-styled DevilMayCry.

(This could be concidered somehow like a random rant from a random guy but I really just wanna start a thread about the game and possibly learn more about it.)
