I am sure my title doesn't translate to what I think it does. I apologize in advance to my French and Canadian readers.

Kotaku reported this weekend about how Sony was putting PS3 gaming stations into Roissy/Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. (Can't tell if that's 2 or 3 airports.)

As much as Sony LOVES Sony, I wonder if even they realize what a great idea this is.

Being the cynic that I am, I can't wait to watch people look up from a game and realize they are about to miss a flight. Oh the fun of watching them tear through the airport like Paris Hilton through diet pills, trying to find their plane.

On a serious note, I'd like to see more of this, though not necessarily just PS3.

My Top 5 Places that should have gaming stations.

1. Dentists: If I could play Vegas during a root canal, I'd never miss an appointment. Some dentists already have TV's and/or Music. Video games are the next logical step.
2. Jail: Who's going to have time to try to escape if there's a Gears of War tournament coming up?
3. DMV: With wireless controllers being the standard now, I don't see why we couldn't play some split screen Forza Motorsports while we're waiting for our tags. Heck, "the man" could weed out a few crappy drivers at the same time.
4. Retirement Homes: Forget Grandma. Visiting geriatric residents in a place that smells of juice and urine would be a whole lot more bareable if I could play a little Band of Bugs. I mean the residents get a Wii, I don't see why visitors couldn't play some 360.
5. Alleys: let's face it, homeless people smell awful. Put a few PS3's in some key alleyways, and we'll never have to step over or around them again. They'd just play and play. Fun for them, great for us. ( Plus homeless people would probably LOVE Sony's software lineup.)

Give me your top 5 places for a gaming station on our forums. If you're new, take a moment to register, then comment away!

1. Schools!
Not necessarily during the lessons, but breaks are perfect time for playing (provided you've done your homework for the following lesson). On second thought, however, it wouldn't be a good idea to do this at all schools. E.g. in Poland (where I live) a PlayStation would be stolen in 20 minutes after it was put into a school. Seriously.
2. Buses, trains, trams
It's so boring to travel using the public transport. It could be so entertaining if there were some video games inside!
3. Planes
Although there are movies and music in planes nowadays, a 360 for each passenger would be nice.
4. Cinemas
I've watched so many boring films in my life... what if you could play a PS3 instead of watching "La Vie En Rose (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Vie_En_Rose_%28film%29)"?

[]1. Dentists: If I could play Vegas during a root canal, I'd never miss an appointment. Some dentists already have TV's and/or Music. Video games are the next logical step.
5. Not only dentists - all kind of physicians (especially GPs) should have video games in their surgeries. Imagine this: "I'll have to take a sample of your blood to perform a blood test..." - "One minute, I just can't beat these zombies". A typical visit to your GP would take much longer, but it would be great fun.

I think they would love to have a working PS3 at the next Sony Developer Conference.

Obviously, the best place to put one is in the trunk of your car.

Why else would it be on EVERY episode of Pimp My Ride?

I can't tell you the number of times where I was cruising down the interstate and decided, "Yo, dawg, I'm feenin for some rilla achievements on some Gears."

That would be Sony's campaign against product placement.

Hey! Not all homeless people smell... :'( My husband and I were the two cleanest and most well dressed homeless people you'd ever meet. Well fed, well groomed, and sexy as hell. :P

I do agree with the rest of it, though.

If they were smart, they'd put them in the bargain bin.

What about at a prostate exam? You could feel the experience that Sony has given you.
Sorry about that but I had to. Delete if you must great and powerful mods.

Doc - the title should be "Parlez-vous PlayStation". Ah, my seven years of French class finally pays off!

My one issue with installing games systems in public places tends to be the lack of variety when it comes to available titles. I'll just stick to my DS for waiting rooms.

Doc's not one to worry about accuracy or correctness in his stories (let alone topics). Trust me. It could say "PS3 Is Made Of Ground Up Babies" and the story would still run... with the story content exactly as it is now (having nothing to do with grinding up babies).

I expect to see this story on Friday. Please. That's hysterical! ;D
