Its RRP for the UK is supposed to be 40 quid.

But it looks great, and it is kinda like a new-game sized expansion pack.
I am very tempted by it. Plus, if you get the game from the right place, you get a really nice faceplate for your guitar.

I might just gamefly it, because I really don't need another guitar in my house, running out of room for that crap as it is.

you don't have to buy the bundle waffle

True. But I can also put it on my Gamefly list and get it right when it comes out, and then buy it from Gamefly for 50.00 dollars because they count it as a used game even though I will probably be the first one to use that copy.

Nah I don't like Aerosmith, and the other bands in the game aren't great either, guitar hero 4 is out this year too so you're better off waiting for that.

it's a really cool idea... i just wish it wasn't aerosmith.

following a band that huge from when they started playing in highschool up through their induction into the rock and roll hall of fame is awesome. also, it looks like the character mapping has been redone as well. still, the fact that it's aerosmith and the like keeps me from getting it.

Kiljoy

thats the exact reason i'm getting it, Aerosmith is my favorite band.

Not getting it. I love music games, and it is Aerosmith.. but Activision over saturating the market w/ niche GH games. Just do a game, and release some packs. I don't want to have to change game disks. This is why I'm loving Rockband... whenever RB2 comes out, if they somehow enable it to use RB DLC.. I don't know, I guess my mind would explode.

I might rent it. I don't care for Aerosmith very much but it' still GH.

I can't justify buying a GH totally devoted to Aerosmith and a few others I'll just wait till GH IV

Not true Ploogle...
You may think that, but the songs aren't all Aerosmith.
The songs are both Aerosmith songs and songs that they have sung which are from other artists...
There's a variance.

Nightkiller93

No i refuse to buy a music game devoted to one band.
Note-the bands that inspired Aerosmith don't count.

well aerosmith is good so whats the problem im pround to say im an aerosmith fanThere's nothing wrong with that, It's just they're really limiting their audience by bringing out a game with only one band.

monkeyman789
06-30-2008, 07:07 PM
yhea i guess your right

i mean rockband was good for that the only thing wrong was that on some songs that i really wanted to hear was a "made famous by"

so was guitar hero 3 (parden my triple posting)

"Well Aerosmith are a good band so what's the problem?, I'm proud to say that I'm a fan of Aerosmith"

There is nothing wrong with you being an Aerosmith fan Shane is just stating that GH:A caters for one type of audience, that being Aerosmith fans.

Raising post count by triple posting FTW!

I'm not an Aerosmith fan. That being said, I don't hate them either. If an Aerosmith song comes on the radio, I won't change the station. I bought Guitar Hero Aerosmith, probably because I'm just a GH whore and I need all of the new songs that I can get. The songs, well they're not really Guitar Hero material, if you know what I mean. I think it would have just been better if they had released all of the songs on the PS Store or XBOX Live Marketplace so the public could pick and choose to the songs that they want, and keep with the new HO/PO system that was introduced in Guitar Hero III that everyone is already familiar with.

I mean, after playing through the title once, I would not buy it again at full price, but I would buy a few songs off of the respective digital store, such as King of Rock, it's crazy fun to play, and some of the Aerosmith songs in the later tiers are pretty fun too, but it's just not enough to pay off a $60 game.

Oh, and one more thing. The game is really easy. On my first run through, I hit 90% or more on every song on Expert, and I think I five-starred all but 2 or 3, and I'm no uber player. The game will probably keep your attention for about a day or two. Yeah, that's it, so unless you're some kind of an Aerosmith megafan, don't go out and buy this one.

And I'm gonna merge the threads in just a minute.

EDIT: Threads merged.

I won't be buying it. Even though I like aerosmith(a little) I would rather save my money for gh4 rockband 2 or just rockband dlc. Although I must admit the dlc from rockband hasn't really been my cup of tea.

I have to say I just rented it today and lars umvult looks weird.

I like a bit of the sound track in the game and the looks reminds me of a cartoon back then.

I pre-ordered it. I love GH & I love Aerosmith. I didn't pray for this combo but since it happened, I'm now praying for "GH Dethklok" or a sooner release for GH Metallica. As a GH fan I say "it could be better" but some of the non-Aerosmith tracks are decent ("Dream Police", "King of Rock", "I Hate Myself For Loving You", "Cat Scratch Fever", "Sex Type Thing"). As an Aerosmith fan, I'll admit the song list is weak although I dropped my jaw when "Kings & Queens" was on the credits--I love that song.

ALSO, is it just me or is there something not right about the hammer-ons and pull-offs? Normally I'm a beast at nailing those but since playing this game, I've been..."off". I don't know what the deal is.

And finally, Steven Tyler's character model scares me.

Mama Kin is in the game. And the HO/PO model has been tweaked for the GHA to be more like the model in Guitar Hero II. So yeah, it's harder to hit HO/PO notes. You have to time stuff instead of just holding the fret down.

I rented it today and Im almost finished with expert and the only 2 songs I had problems with was DMCS walk this way and hard to handle It felt like the charts were either hard to hit or impossible.

You can't do the Walk This Way with DMC? Ugh, then don't try the original Walk This Way in the Bonus Song section. It's a beast.

It's an awesome song, the solo gets me every time.

The only band I'd buy a "Music Game" for is Rush and the only way I'd do it is if it was like Rock Band and had all their studio albums.

Aerosmith is a OK band but I would never pay $60 for a music game with them in it.

I probably won't buy it because I prefer a large range of music while playing a game. If it is somehow similar then I might become bored with it.
