I'm only 3 minutes in but I have to comment before I lose my train of thought.

In GTA IV the thing that bugged me with the mission that Doc and Lono were talking about where you chose to let the woman live or die then the guy jumps on the bike and takes off.

I found that so many times during the game it's so misleading it tells you to kill somebody but you can't just freaking kill them. You have to follow them until they get to a certain spot. It's ridiculous. I've emptied my gun shooting at a car or that guy on the bike trying to just kill him and every time to no avail.

On one mission I shot a car so many times that it blew up... Then I failed because something in the car was destroyed. Even though all it told me to do was kill them.

EDIT: Crap... Dave, you covered what I said.

I guess I should have bit my lip (or fingers) on this subject until it was done.

That way, anyone who wanted a ringtone could download them ALL for free! And then there'd be no point to having the store, because anyone who wanted them would have already gotten them for free. Concerning the motorbike mission which you were talking about early in GTA IV, I managed to get him in the first 10 seconds with the SMG as have a few of my friends. I think I got a really lucky head shot or something. But you're right, sometimes you can't kill them until a certain point which sucks. But Penny Arcade rocks! 'Nuff said.

My game I was addicted to was Garrys Mod because now my laptop cant work with Steam Multiplayer

Halo 2 was the game I was addicted to, I played that long after I got my 360.

Hey, I know that the UK is a pretty small place, but from where I live to London its nearly 600miles. Could you maybe get another party in the North end of the country? maybe Edinburgh, Newcastle or Glasgow? Lono really didn't seem to "get" the Penny Arcade humor... Yes, the story is extremely nonsensical, but so are most PA comics. Yes, you start off (and continue to use) a rake as your primary weapon throughout the game... but once again that's just part of the humor. It didn't strike me as "giving their fans the finger." In fact, the game itself is one giant bit of fan-service... and PA has the base to pull that off and make money.

Think upon the following scenario:

You run up to a fat party clown and smack him with a rake. The clown explodes into rainbow colored blood and confetti.

Does the thought of that make you chuckle? Then you'll probably enjoy the game.

Also it's part RPG (the combat is, at least), but the rest of the game smacks of those old school Lucas Arts adventure games (Indiana Jones, Maniac Mansion etc).

Fortunately the game has a demo. It really is worth a look.

Yeah, I felt that Penny Arcades humour is funny in the small webcomics, but in a game it feels kinda self indulgent. Kills the joke.

That brand of humor is up PA's alley. If you aren't into PA's style of humor that's not really a knock against you (might actually be a positive thing), but I'm really curious as to what you were expecting. You had to know what you were getting into when you downloaded the game.

I've seen quite a few people around the web who've said this, but here's the way I look at it:

3 Episodes...$20 per episode...5-8 hours per episode = $60 for 15 to 24 hours of gameplay, which is pretty much the standard cost and length of any 360 game.

I'm gonna go ahead and call that Gamer Math...I want a nickel everytime someone says it!

And you're going to find that with any game. Some people will think it's worth it and some won't. At least with Rain Slick, you only spent $20 to see if you like it or not. If you don't, just pass on the next two episodes and you're only out twenty bucks.

Plus, if games were priced according to quality, games like Turok would be free!

Oh, cool...I didn't know that. Thanks. And yes, Lono I realize you actually did recommend the game and didn't really have very many negatives to say about it. I was just russlin' feathers earlier...about PA that is, not your martini time bomb. That still stands!

I'll say this again: this game is not high quality enough for each episode to be only 5-8 hours long.

its a good game, but I wouldn't pay 80 bucks for the whole thing even if its about 30 hours long.I don't mind the the game, I just think it should be longer to warrant the 20 bucks.

I know I'm a little behind, but I just had to set the record straight since Lono called me out:tongue:

I was about 5 months behind on SG podcasts so I threw them all on my iPhone last week and have been listening to about 5 a day trying to catch up and just heard Lono call me out for saying that BioShock would never come to the PS3. Well I'd just like to state for the record that I NEVER said that. All I said was that if it did finally come to the PS3, it wouldn't really be worth it because all the hype would be gone and anybody who really wanted to play it would have by then. Here's my quote from the Episode 5 thread just to prove it:

If it takes 6 months to finally get to PS3, what is the point? I guarantee anybody that wants to play it will have by then since you can play it on 360 or PC. Even if it does come out, are PS3 fanboys going to brag because they get to play a game that 360 owners all beat 6 months prior? Unfortunately they probably will make up some crazy ass rumor that their "graphics-superior console" will be able to produce 4D graphics or that the water looks 10X better compared to the 360. If it does take 6 months to deliver then it will have to compete with GTA IV...good luck with that.

PS3 fanboy standing in a store 6 months from now, "Hmmm, do I buy the new GTA that is the biggest game being released right now or do I buy the 6 month old game that all my friends have already beaten and told me the storyline to. Decisions...decisions."

I still stand by my quote btw. Since BioShock is such old news now, I don't really see the point of porting it. I don't mind it though, because every gamer should have a chance to play this awesome game.
