In an interview with the Financial Times, Miles Flint, the departing president of Sony-Ericsson, noted that there was a posibility of Ericsson developing a Playstation brand of cell phone. Specifically he said, “Its an area of possible future activity...We need to make sure that it is a credible phone, and be sure we are justified in putting that identity on it.”



Wow. So, if Ericsson made a Sony Playstation Phone, what kind of features would it have? After pondering, as I am prone to do after finishing off a case of bud light (I know, classy...) I came up with a few features that I am looking forward to on the Playstation Phone:

Calls are free, but you can only call people in your network, which won't be too many.
No vibration mode.
Super-Expensive! Probably have to get a third job to pick that bad boy up.
Next-generation calling network!! A network that I probably won't need, but Sony will insist that it's the next wave of cellular technology.
It will play games, but not any good ones.
Metal Gear Solid 5.
10 year service agreement.
Blu-Ray Mobile!
2, 4, 6, and 8 Gigabyte flash memory, but really, who is going to want the 2 Gb phone?
Oh yeah, Rothbart will have one.I can't wait for this phone to come out. Wait... This just in. Microsoft just announced their own phone... Based on current technology, has a ton of games, its cheaper and will be out a year before the playstation phone??? Sweet.

Surely it will just be like a smalller, shitter version of the PSP. Only with phone capabilities.

I have to confess. I work for Sony-Ericsson, and when this idea was pitched to me, my one word reply was misinterpreted as "engage", and so they went ahead and greenlighted this POS.

you know, I remember reading about playstation dropping a flipscreen PSP cell phone design into the patent office about 3 months ago..could this be what he's refering to? (Not making up, check game informer mags...think it was the fallout 3 featurette, so july or august edition) Have to agree though, if the PSP has processing problems imagine the next generation's n-gage, but you'll have to buy a PS3 to charge it.
