This vid has been around a while, but it's still beautiful. I can't wait to get my hands on the fruits of this labor. Friggin' gorgeous game engine. In case you missed it.

Canuck 09-15-2007, 11:02 PM There's no way I could play that on my PC, I'm just hoping that it'll come out on 360, cause that is by FAR the most beautiful and realistic video game I've seen in my life.

Yeah I don't think they could do that on the 360... that would have to be done on the next thing after the 360. So less you have a bad ass rig... forget about it.
Canuck 09-15-2007, 11:49 PM No, I think it can be done on the 360... they just have to either tone it down or do a lot of work to get the 360 up in its potential resources. It's doable - the developers of the game even said so. It just takes a lot of time and will most likely have to be toned down at least a bit. I can live with that, though, so long as it isn't toned down too much.
Legendtaker117 09-16-2007, 03:50 AM @.@ So beautiful...........*snaps out of it* I must play this game!, but sadly I cannot due to my crappy computer, now all my hope is in the 360. I can only hope....................
Gametrailers has some videos of the differences between DX9 and DX10 versions of crysis(im too lazy now, go search for yourself). the 360 should be capable of handling the DX9 path just fine. same goes for the PS3 should it become a multiplatformer.
just those dx10 features would not run but since the game is pretty unter dx9 as well, I believe there would be many happy people if they would make a console version.
Hotcooler 09-16-2007, 09:16 AM Big problem of Current gen consoles - is their memory. Why the're is only 512megs of RAM (including Video Ram)? Just WHY? My god dam Video card have 640megs. Ok I kno - streaming from disk e.t.c. But WTF! Add ~20$ And you have 1 Gig. Not cheaper - but it'll make games to look better. Memory is first problem of consoles. The main one. They're powerful enough - but can't cope with endless worlds with hell of a textures. Not enough ram.
For example - World in conflict for PC takes around 550megs of Video Ram in DX10 on maxed settings!
CharlieBlix 09-16-2007, 11:41 AM Of course they could do this on the 360 if they toned it down.. but thats what makes this look so freaking sweet... its not toned down! Anyways... you've seen gears of war... it looked great.. but this... this blows gears out of the 3D ocean technology water.
VinDali 09-16-2007, 02:39 PM My 2 year old Dell with XP could not handle that game, but daaaaaang it's gorgeous and I want it. Maybe I will get that new wireless laptop I've been thinking about. :)
Ploogle 09-16-2007, 05:43 PM Holy crap. I've gotta get the source for that thing...
I just hope they can bring it to the Wii! :D
keith22 09-16-2007, 06:13 PM Thats why invested to much into building a top notch pc, for this game and future one
Canuck 09-16-2007, 08:18 PM Holy crap. I've gotta get the source for that thing...

Bring it to the Wii? ROFL, there's no friggin chance that'll EVER happen. Crysis is a game where graphics come first, and the Wii will never EVER support anything nearly that good-looking.
And the 360/PS3 version wouldn't need to be toned down much, they'll be able to basically take the DX9 version and work with that, maybe toning down the insane number of shadows a bit and so on.
512MB of RAM for a video game console is a helluva lot, BTW - because it isn't running a full OS, it's only running the game itself. The original Xbox ran on 64MB of RAM, and look what it could achieve! Trust me when I say that a console doesn't need 4GB of RAM to produce Crysis-levels of graphical quality. It's doable with 512MBs, it just takes a little work and optimization.
Yousty 09-17-2007, 08:42 AM I think the most amazing thing in that video was the destroyable vegetation. It looked so freakin real that it's ridiculous. The amount of code, real-time physics, and processing power to pull something like that off is just unreal. I played the first FarCry and from the looks of this video, the new one will blow it out of the 3D water.
I honestly don't think the 360 would be able to handle this game as it was shown in that video. Hell, I don't even think my 2.8Ghz dual-core, 4GB ram, 256mb graphics card gaming rig will be able to handle that game as it was shown. Either way, I can't wait to play that game!
LEGEND 09-17-2007, 02:29 PM I have a 2GB RAM, 3.0 GHZ Dual Core AMD processor and a Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX graphics card, do you think that can handle it?
Canuck 09-17-2007, 07:32 PM Graphics card: Hell yes!
RAM:Sort of
Processor:Sort of
Maybe not max settings, but very close. Your graphics card sure could though.

Well said my friend, Wii grfx suck even the 360 can't handle crysis infact i heard them say that if they would port it to 360 they had to tone it down a lot becuase 360 isn't capable of handaling the new engine to its fulliest. Crysis will remain a pc exclusive nuff said
Canuck 09-18-2007, 12:39 AM No, the developers said that it is possible to bring it to the 360 and PS3
"Crysis could be on the 360 or PS3," he said. "It requires optimisation, that's what we've always communicated."
No chance on the Wii, but it could possibly be ported to 360 and PS3 with optimisation. Personally, I think it will happen because EA is a money-hungry beast and probably sees the potential in a Crysis-for-consoles game earning a lot of money.
LEGEND 09-18-2007, 11:03 AM Thats a relief then, thanks. I do want to get a new proccessor though, probally a quad core.
