Beowulf 09-15-2007, 09:52 PM How is it possible to have a PC gaming section without WoW?
Anyway, discuss everything you can about WoW.
I am:
Lvl 16 Night Elf Rogue. (yes I am still a noob, I just started in July)
Necrath 09-17-2007, 01:21 AM 70 warlock
70 druid
48 shaman
41 shaman
.... WTB halo 3
Indeed (http://www.docadamsaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161). Impossible (http://www.docadamsaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=322).
and boy. you really are a noob ;) Lvl 16 is somethign you get in 2 hours not 2 month.
Beowulf 09-18-2007, 06:55 PM Yes, I know
I can never seem to level up quickly in any RPG.
To get to lvl 50 in Oblivion, it took me almost a year.
I'll sell my level 69 to anyone just so they can themselves say "I GOT TO 70" without actually having to go through the 7-8 days worth of /played. ^^
LordLegion 09-20-2007, 12:34 PM heh I play, but i'm not addicted. I have been addicted 2 times and I now have a way to avoid that. But yea good game I mean I sometimes wonder why I find it fun. I mean it realy is pointless lol. But what game in the end isn't about the experience you get from it then actually having a point to a game. I mean you beat Halo 2 so you beat halo 2 but you had fun. I mean the only difference is you can't beat WoW.
Instability 09-22-2007, 01:49 PM Hah i dont want to start anything but WoW wrecks peoples health and there lives
LordLegion 09-22-2007, 02:11 PM Hah i dont want to start anything but WoW wrecks peoples health and there lives
This can be too true.
Beowulf 09-22-2007, 04:22 PM Hah i dont want to start anything but WoW wrecks peoples health and there lives
Not unless they are complete idiots and stop eating to continue playing.
This is the precise reason why I limit my WoW gaming time, because I dont want it to happen to me.
Apathy 09-22-2007, 04:55 PM WoW doesnt ruin lives.. people ruin their own lives.. if ur stupid enough to skip sleeping, eating just to play a stupid game then ur a complete tard..its not the dam games fault.
LordLegion 09-22-2007, 05:57 PM Now the ppl do ruin their lives, but the game is still so damn addicting. Trust me I'm a former victim like you don't really realize your ruining your life until it just hits you one day and by that time a lot of damage has been done.
lameassthemity 09-22-2007, 07:39 PM I used to play WoW. I had a 70 Troll warrior on Azjol Nerub.
WoW is addictive because it allows you to escape your immediate reality, entering yourself into a world where no one judges you by what you look like or where you live, but by your actions and your skill. Or /played, whatever.
I found that I would rather spend time with my virtual friends, rather than real ones. There is hardly any obligation when playing WoW, no one expects anything of you.
Enter: raiding content/guilds: I have to play every night now?
Exit: me.
Not to diss the game or anything, I really enjoyed playing it. But there IS a reason that when canceling your account and they ask why, one of the options is "I played too much."
keith22 09-23-2007, 02:32 PM Wow sucks it a disgrace to pc gaming
Beowulf 09-23-2007, 07:46 PM Enter: raiding content/guilds: I have to play every night now?
Wait until Hellgate London comes out and you'll get randomly generated raids.
Wow sucks it a disgrace to pc gaming
You sir, have no idea about PC gaming if you think that.
WoW is made by Blizzard, one of the (unfortunately)very few companies that represent PC gaming. Not only that, but WoW is also one of the most influential MMO's in history, pretty much comercialising online RPG's.
It's fine if you don't like it, but calling it a disgrace to PC gaming is comletely false.
Volkov 09-24-2007, 12:25 AM An attitude like "WoW is a disgrace to PC gaming" is understandable, but wrong in the end. If anything, its saving PC gaming. People are buying new computers to play the game, and thus there are more of a market for other games to come out for the PC.
Everyone has been predicting the PC's death for years now, and as of late, its only gaining more momentum.

buy a computer for wow? cmon gfx sucks minimum requirments are old. If people buy new computers its for games like crysis, css cod4 etc. wow has 9million accounts however not all of them still play it. I hate the game cause its usless boring and monotomus. And iam more of an fps and racing dude rather than an rpg shitty style.
Thats 9million ACTIVE subscriptions. Would be interesting to see some numbers for all-time subscriptions.
Say what you wan't but WoW is a extremely good selling game. And in my personal circle of acquaintances there are 3 people who had bought a new PC just for WoW.
I hate the game cause its usless boring and monotomus. And iam more of an fps and racing dude rather than an rpg shitty style.
Ahh, okay. Now I see why WoW is a disgrace to PC gaming. [/sarcasm]
See I could argue that FPS games (especially the two of your signature) are with all their bad media and reputation a disgrace to gaming.
Ala Douche 09-24-2007, 11:15 AM @ apathy: that's like saying crack doesn't ruin lives. saying something doesn't ruin lives because people have a choice whether or not to engage in that activity is pointless. if you think like that, then nothing on this earth really ruins lives....except murderers... crack doesn't ruin lives, heroin doesn't ruin lives, the people that decide to use it ruin their own lives. well yeah, obviously, but they are still addicting. both were probably tried once because a friend said it was awesome, then they enjoyed it, so they tried it again... pretty soon they're addicted and they're living in a dumpster (i'm talking about drugs right now, so they don't have a computer... i know, it's hard to tell which one i'm talking about). and it all started because someone said, "hey man, you gotta try this."
catch the similarities?

you should really stop because you have no idea what you're talking about.
RawSwedishpoweR 09-24-2007, 12:52 PM I have quit WoW! And DAMNIT I am proud! Grrrr!!
Canuck 09-24-2007, 09:05 PM Am I the only one here who has never played WoW and doesn't really want to?
WoW is one of the greatest games of all time.
You can argue that it "ruins lives", but if it sucked, it wouldn't be "ruining lives" at all.
I enjoyed the 2 years I played WoW.
But I'm very happy that I was able to quit in the end.
Been clean for 5 months now and damn proud of it :p
Canuck 09-24-2007, 10:02 PM I never said WoW sucked, I just never had much interest in MMORPGs, or at least not those types.

Other than video card, those are pretty up to date.
Legendtaker117 09-25-2007, 03:04 AM Am I the only one here who has never played WoW and doesn't really want to?
I dont play, with everything Ive heard. I will wait for a different MMO game to play.
RawSwedishpoweR 09-27-2007, 05:12 PM good, keep it that way, for now ^^
Beowulf 09-27-2007, 06:33 PM I'm telling you, Hellgate: London will be that MMO.
Its a next gen Diablo, 'nuff said.
RawSwedishpoweR 09-28-2007, 09:21 AM I dont know, I saw an ingame vid of it...Im not sure why, I just didn't like it that much, not wut I xpected, thought it would be more FPSRPG than 3rd person RPG :C
Ala Douche 09-28-2007, 10:39 AM i never got into the diablo games like my friends did. i wish they would make more games on same premise of savage. those were awesome!
Oakstout 09-29-2007, 09:03 PM Is Hellgate a subscription game, to play online? If so, why pay to play a Diablo clone or Diablo upgrade?
Oh and I've been hooked on WoW for almost 3 yrs now.
70 Mage
61 Warrior
48 Druid
40 Hunter
38 Lock
27 Pally
24 Priest
12 Rogue
And those are just my alliance characters lol
Wizard 09-30-2007, 01:01 AM Eww, MMORPGs.
Guild Wars FTW!
*flees*
Canuck 09-30-2007, 01:35 AM I don't understand what makes these MMOs so addicting. I once got semi-addicted to Runescape a LOOOOOOOOONG time ago, and never got addicted to any other game. Except maybe Halo or Rainbow 6.
Beowulf 09-30-2007, 10:48 PM Is Hellgate a subscription game, to play online? If so, why pay to play a Diablo clone or Diablo upgrade?
You can play for free or pay $10 a month and be an "Elite" player. It basically means you get:
More character classes
More items
Access to exclusive "Elite only" areas
and an expansion every 3 months.
I for one dont plan to upgrade until the beta is released in a few weeks. I am invited, so i'll post my impressions when it opens.
iPlayPC 10-08-2007, 05:58 PM Doesn't WoW stand for World of Wusscrap?
GUILDWARZ!!!!!!!!!!
Keenith 10-11-2007, 05:15 PM I play wow and i like it but idk im starting to fall out of it
i mean ok u pay what like 15$ a month when i could pay that to get xbox live and play as many games as u want. With wow u are limited to 1 game ur best bet is to go with xbox live
spinmaster247 10-13-2007, 03:18 AM I play/played WoW for like a year and i hit 70 a couple of months ago on my rogue but i realized the only way you will ever be cool on that game is if your a warrior cuz you own every party you can log on and get 10 psts for runs me i look for like 2 hours finding an instance run. I have been raiding kara and got most of my gear but im kinda sick of the game and im thinking about trying out tabula rasa that game looks sick
KeavyRain 10-16-2007, 06:39 AM I play a different MMO: Final Fantasy XI and have been playing off and on for the last three and a half years.
I tried WoW with the $2 two-week trial and I just didn't care for it. My biggest problem was how easy it was. Yes, I know the ease is the appeal, but in FFXI you have to work for stuff and stuff like completing missions, expansion pack content, or even getting a job to max level feels like an achievement. While playing WoW I realized that I missed Support Jobs, being able to play different jobs on the same character, and there was the "Alliance vs. Horde" thing and the "Only certain jobs are open to certain races" thing and it all felt foreign to me.
So WoW didn't appeal to me but I could see where others would find it appealing. Ya know, non-FF fanboys who don't feel like spending a year getting one job to max level.
That being said, those that say that MMO's aren't addictive are wrong. There was a point in time where I was on FFXI 12+ hours a day for weeks at a time and even now I find myself sitting in front of the TV barely able to keep my eyes open debating about whether or not I should accept a party invite from a JP party that could easily hit 20K exp an hour.
Whoever coined the phrase "EverCrack" hit the nail on the head.
Aurora boy 10-25-2007, 02:22 AM what's WoW?
2bored2bbored 10-25-2007, 12:16 PM Wow is was and still is innovative and pioneers in the MMO industry , i have played for 2 years , and they way to Not get addicted to it is get a GF that requires copius amounts of attention .
now for those saying WoW sucks , maybe you should try it before you bash it , you know your only talking crap because that gate on the front of your face dosent have a lock on it
