In a british magazine, (I cant remeber the name) there was an interview with Christian Bale who said that he is gunning for the role of solid snake. Its rumor that the film is gonna be released in 2009.

I dont know about you, but I think Christian Bale would be perfect for Solid Snake. And how could a movie about Solid Snake played by Christian FREAKING Bale go wrong. :D

Christian Bale would be an excellent choice, dude's a great actor and I have no doubt he'll be able to successfully portray Snake.

David Hayter sucks as an actor, he could never play Snake in a big budget movie. He's pretty good at voice acting though, Ill give him that.

Personally I find Kurt Russle to fit the Snake role better. As for Christian Bale I still think he shouldn't have played Batman, for the same reason why Daniel Craig shouldn't have been 007. The actors are physically bigger. All the 00's have been portrayed by what are more average looking guys (by physical standards). Christian Bale is HUGE compaired to the previous James Bonds.

As for Christian Bale he is also quite big compaired to the rest of the previous actors who portrayed Batman. I know what your thinking... where am I going with this?

Well if people pay attention to the game we realize how Snake isn't a huge muscle machine guy, he looks fairly built but isn't a huge guy. Kurt Russle just seems to fit the physique better, and not to mention his voice portrays the voice from Snake in the game quite closely.

Don't believe me? Go to your movie rental store and check out Kurt Russle's movie "Soldier" and don't tell me that his voice sounds nothing alike. Kurt Russle just seems to me that he could portray Snake from the games better, he has the look and a damn close voice if he concentrates hard enough.

Daniel Craig was fine as James Bond. So he had a better physique, that still doesnt change the fact that he is an awesome James Bond.
Also I think its good that Christian Bale is buffer than the other guys, cause in the comics Batman has a better Physique than Christian Bale has. All the other actors who played Batman sucked.

sweet, metal gear the movie, I just hope they follow the game's story instead of making up there own, like resident evil.

As long as Raiden isn't in the movie, I'm cool with whatever choices they make.

I just don't see David Hayter, playing AS the legendary Solid Snake. . . Regardless of the fact that he has done the voice work, Christian Bale would do a better job . . . Let Hayter continue his role as the "voice" of Snake, and lets not take him away from his screenwriting career (he's the one that wrote the first X-men movie). As for Kurt Russle . . . The guy's gettin' old. Maybe he could play the "old" Snake that's been seen in the upcoming "Guns of the Patriots" trailers.
Granted, he did already do a kick-ass job playing someone that goes by the name of "Snake Pliskin!"

i think daniel craig was the best bond since sean connery, and while i really like christian bale, i agree with chemical burn that kurt russel would fit him better. he is getting old, but i would see him as snake before bale.

also, about the arguement about david hayter... am i alone, or is he a terrible voice actor in the games too?

I dont know, Ive only watched my bro play the first and second game, and I was little then so I really never payed attention to the voice acting and story. Though I do remember a lot from the second game.

I never was a fan of Christian Bale - that was until I unintentionally watched 2 films with him in during one weekend. Batman Begins and The Prestige. I think he would make an excellent snake - very gritty and dark. David Hayter would suck - sure he has the voice but thats it. No acting talent or physical resemblance at all.

From the footage I've seen so far, I'd be stoked to get a Metal Gear CG movie... screw live action.

BTW, I'm one of the biggest Kurt Russel fans there is, and he already plays the perfect "Snake"... Snake Plissken I don't think he would fit right as Solid Snake.

I dont think Solid Snake was based off of Snake Pliskin, really the only similaritys they have is that their both badass and they have the same name. Otherwise then that, they are totally different.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that Snake was inspired by Michael Biehn.

The character was based off of him, Kojima said in an interview he loved Escape from New york and like many of his other characters he based the character off of him as a nod to the movie, but it was only the basis of the character. The original artwork was based off of Biehn in metal gear, the cover art is practically an exact rip of it. In later games he became more Pliskiny.

LOL this is gunna be frikin AWESOME 0_o i personally am not to great at MGS ^_^ LOL but my brother LOVES them so i watch and follow along and occasionally attempt to play (keyword there is attempt) can wait for the game LOL but it would be cool if it was really people but CG is good too =) LOL i like the way the colonel says "snake..snake...SNAKE!!" when snake dies:P and how liquid says "brotha" to snake LOL :P

I think if your going to make a movie of a game it should be a CG movie. (Final Fantasy was retarded) But you wouldn't have to argue who would look better it would look like Solid Snake based off of Solid Snake.

CG would be better since the characters would actually look like their counterparts.

Naww I am confident in a live action movie, I want a true cinema experience.
