Does any one know if there is an instant action mode for offline play like the one on 1942 or battlefront?

Does any one know if the multiplayer is only available on live? Or is it like other battlefields where you can just play split screen on a xbox, playing against and with bots. It is because i don't have live and if multiplayer is only online i think it would be a waist of 60 dollars thanks.

I would assume there is bots..but I have only played it for the PC.

I'm pretty sure multiplayer is Xbox Live only, but I could be wrong.

I think it was a few weeks ago that ea said that they would get their own servers which could mean that they will be free. All the previous ones had bots, why not this one?

I am talking about bots for offline play, and battle field 2 did not have any multiplayer offline.
