View Full Version : Should DemonicDerek be unbanned from official Gamernights?
Lono_Lives 06-27-2008, 12:01 PM He's asked and I'll throw it out to the community. Here's the rules. One post per member. I'll let Derek plead his case. ONCE. One post for Derek. If he posts more than once, he officially RE-Bans himself.
Posters that have actually played in gamer nights with DemoicDerek are encouraged to post.
I'll let this run for a week and I'll abide by the community, however, he's permanently banned from gamer nights that I host, no matter the outcome.
Vote, yay or nay.
Shane86 06-27-2008, 12:04 PM Why was he banned again?
DeathByWaffle 06-27-2008, 12:17 PM Why was he banned again?
Thats what I was wondering...
I haven't really seen anything that bad from him, so I voted yes.
Spoofmaniac 06-27-2008, 12:20 PM I have nothing personal against DemonicDerek, but Gamernights are becoming one of the only times I can game in peace. I'd rather like no one messing that up.
The Beezs 06-27-2008, 12:31 PM I'd like to vouch for the guy, but each occasion of gaming with him hasn't been all too pleasant. I haven't played in a group with him after his supposed "change" in behavior after the anime-con, so I don't know about know. But from previous experience, I say nay.
DemonicDerek 06-27-2008, 12:51 PM I'd like to vouch for the guy, but each occasion of gaming with him hasn't been all too pleasant. I haven't played in a group with him after his supposed "change" in behavior after the anime-con, so I don't know about know. But from previous experience, I say nay.
I would more call it I grew up () rather than calling it a change... So yeah.
People I would say that you might ask for differences as they have played with me the most on this forum (COD 4 Tourney): Strika, Tinman, and Sinfulfate (That isn't Strika's full username but most of you get the point).
Really guys, more or less I play without a mic now days because 1. It has become a hassle to keep track of the stupid thing, 2. For some reason I play better without it in, probably when I do have it in I tend to focus more on any and all conversations that are occuring rather than focusing on the game.
3. I have dramatically lessened the amount of talking I do, so when I do have it in it is pointless...
Am I allowed to edit this post if I think of more details/thoughts later?
Really I actually 100% can truthfully and honestly say that I don't hate lono at all (probably part of the growing up...). I don't even know why I disliked him in the first place now that I think about it.
So yeah... discuss if you so desire, and while I am at it am I the only one in SG history to get banned from SG gaming nights? or was I just the first?
If you let me back in, see you next week assuming there is enough room.
If you don't let me back in, well I will be disappointed but I won't explode or anything like I may have done in the past.
Overall its up to you, if anything I said has influenced you that is sweet, if not then that's ok too! :cool2:
Now stop reading this and go vote or discuss then vote!... I don't give you much of a choice now do I?
For all those that don't know what I did, and it seems no one would like to take the time to explain; I will:
What happened was when I had my first gamer night I asked lono if we could use my maps in Halo 3, he said yeah sarcastically. I took him seriously and overreacted and was pissed at him since (note the past tense if you didn't). From then on out I really was a nuisance to be playing with during these games, I regret it now, but I did it. I claimed to do it because I was tired but that was utter BS. Really it all winds down to me being immature and making an ass of myself for no reason and eventually I got banned.
and I am sorry (with as much sincerety as I can provide) to those ears that bled for my nuiscance!
However as I have said, really I have grown up...possibly around the time I was actually able to pick up chicks during my daily activities... IDK when, it just happend.
Really most of the time I don't have my mic in when playing so it kind of removes the chance of that happening again.
NOW ALL THOSE THAT WERE CURIOUS VOTE FOR YAY PLEASE!!!!!
viatrophy 06-27-2008, 12:56 PM I've never been to fond of the guy, but I think he deserves one final chance.
Basically just let him try the gamer night once more if he does one thing wrong then he's perma banned from them.
Thats what I think is fair..
virtu0so 06-27-2008, 02:20 PM Ok DemonicDerek, your plead is convincing. Even though I've never been to a Gamer Night,(but I will 2 fridays from now!) welcome back to Gamer Nights.
Ploogle 06-27-2008, 03:52 PM I say that he should be unbanned. If he screws it up again, no more chances. It'll be a good gauge of how much he really changed (even though I have no clue what happened), and how much he really wants back in.
Tinman 06-27-2008, 03:57 PM Yes I played with him on the tournament team...I really thought about quiting more than once. I say "nay"
naruto20 06-27-2008, 11:58 PM I say nay because I dont know waht he did.
Nightkiller93 06-28-2008, 05:23 AM I vote Nay to make the votes even.
Sorry Derek.
ShockwaveLover 06-28-2008, 06:39 AM Should the fact that there seems to be a large amount of concern still be considered if the vote goes DD's way?
NeonSkull 06-28-2008, 09:59 AM Sounds like he messed up. I would bring him back but just for a trial period.
DeathByWaffle 06-28-2008, 11:53 AM Sounds like he messed up. I would bring him back but just for a trial period.
Agreed. I think you should just give him one chance. If he messes up, thats it for him.
Ozonez 06-28-2008, 12:19 PM What the hell did he do?
Can i post again if im told?
paulmess7 06-28-2008, 09:42 PM If only we could perma ban Lono from the gamernights :P just kidding lono... don't hurt me
bmauro11 06-29-2008, 12:02 AM Was Demonic Derek the guy who was breathing and screaming into the mike the pre-match before you guys fought GTR? if that case, i think the guy deserves another chance, i talked to him after the match, and he's pretty cool.
Officer Mudkip 06-29-2008, 06:14 AM Was Demonic Derek the guy who was breathing and screaming into the mike the pre-match before you guys fought GTR? if that case, i think the guy deserves another chance, i talked to him after the match, and he's pretty cool.
yeah screaming into the mic is awesome!
WAIt!!
its not
Artemas 06-29-2008, 12:58 PM Give him a second chance. He is not my most favorite person on the forums, but he claims to have "grown up" so lets see.
naruto20 06-29-2008, 03:30 PM Dang the outcome does not look good.
I think derek should have another chance
osmosis5 06-29-2008, 06:17 PM WHAT HAS HE DONE??? Nobody seems to answer this question... I am not ready to vote because this depends upon his life SG account... Ehh... doesn't sound so dramatic that way, let's go w/ life
IMxAxTREEx 06-29-2008, 07:37 PM NO He should not unless he changes what got him banned in the first place
Cam-Dog 07-01-2008, 01:59 AM I think he should atleast get a chance to clear his name.
I dont think he would do what he did again right...
Lono_Lives 07-01-2008, 10:23 AM Voting will end on this topic on Wednesday around 4 pm cst.
Bloodlut 07-01-2008, 01:58 PM I voted yay, he has said he has grown up, said he is sorry.... what more can the guy do?
Bottom line.... if he acts like a dick again?
ban him again.....simple.....
may as well give him another chance?
If not....well.....its kinda mean :undecided:
heyfling 07-02-2008, 12:19 AM One of the reason he was banned:
DemonicDerek and I think it was ChewyGoneEvil had a friendly dual in CoD4 where whoever died first was declared the loser. ChewyGoneEvil killed Lono 3 times and was able to get a UAV up. He then killed DemonicDerek once a few minutes later. Instead of letting it go, Derek complained saying it wasn't fair and demanded a rematch until Lono removed him from the party. The group then went and played ground wars matches because the party was down to 9 people and Derek followed them into the room still complaining about the match. After that night Derek was banned from gamernights.
I have nothing against DemonicDerek and I have only played with him a couple of times when he was apart of SG Gamernights but I think if Tinman said Nay then we should probably follow his lead because it seems like he has played with him more than most of the people on the board.
Lono_Lives 07-02-2008, 12:28 AM BTW, Heyfling forgot to mention that I was merely spectating that match and Chewy killed me... :( While spectating.
tomyg 07-02-2008, 09:57 AM everyone needs one more3 chance, can it really hurt, or why cant he be there with no mic? that would be ok, vote yes, he needs one mpre chance.
Kiljoy 07-02-2008, 12:32 PM I say Yay because it's a damn gamer night, not that big of a deal. He was banned and whether he learned his lesson or not remains to be seen, but really whats the worst case scenario? You let him back and he acts like a jerk? just re ban him and don't let him back, no big deal at all. If he is not a jerk then you get a new member to play with and everyone has fun.
tomyg 07-02-2008, 12:37 PM i agree....Killjoy.... kinda weird bname considdering the topic....
Shane86 07-02-2008, 06:33 PM Voting will end on this topic on Wednesday around 4 pm cst.
Voting Closed. 26 yes, 27 no.
animathias 07-02-2008, 07:04 PM I haven't played with him for a while, but he would be invited to one of my gamer nights. That said, I and a couple others would be keeping an eye on him and the first complaint would send him back to the main menu.
He's served his time and he's up for parol. That's how I look at it.
n00bhunter 07-04-2008, 09:47 PM What did he actually do?
Everyone deserves a Second chance though..but if he has already had a Second chance..I will have to Vote no,I will vote after someone has answered this question.
