yes, but if you don't have rich parents or make 100k a year to keep your computer up to speed with the games that are coming out, then you have to switch to consoles. while i prefer a mouse and keyboard to a controller any day of the week, i like how when a new console comes out it takes quite a while before the game developers are really pushing them to the limit. the PS3 and xbox 360 games that are coming out have not pushed these systems at all yet, so we will definitely see some huge improvement on that end.

well no da, like I said before Im just hoping they release it on the 360(with better graphics or not). The game looks awesome, but you dont have to be an ass about it.

Now here's a challenging question: this or Crysis?

If I had to pick today at this moment, it would be Far Cry 2. only based on the info I have on both games at the moment.

Personally I think that Crysis looks slightly better then Far Cry 2 in terms of graphics, but Christ, the scale of that game... 50 freakin' square miles? That's ridiculously massive! Only game that ever came close to that I think was Just Cause... and maybe GTA:SA.

I'm a little confused on this, but will Far Cry 2 have those same "powers" that the original had, or is this more of a realistic approach?

Far Cry 1 was for the PC, it did not have the predator powers nor did the storyline have anything to do with predators. Far Cry 2 will not have anything to do with the storylines/characters in any of the following Far Cry games:

Far Cry Instincts
Far Cry Instincts Evolution
Far Cry Vengeance
Far Cry Instincts Predator

Far Cry 2 will be a direct sequel to the original Far Cry that was on the PC. So basicly Far Cry 2 will not have Jack Carver leaping great hights, running at greater speeds, or clawing away at people.


The only similaritys will be that that the main character is the same, and thats it. ya, I know. Bummer. I had originally thought the the thing that made far cry unique was the predator powers, I had no idea they werent in the original. Still Far Cry 2 will be a good game. :D

They dont look anything alike, apart from the graphics engine. The reason is the setting. Crysis is on a tropical island and Far Cry 2 is in Africa.

Even Graphics engines are different! Far Cry 2 uses CryEngine 1 modified by Ubisoft. Crysis uses original CryEngine 2 by Crytec.

ok, I was wrong there, but you just further proved my point.

You seem to be a big expert on Far Cry. I only played a bit of it so I don't know much about it, but the sequel sure looks great. The graphics sure are fantastic for a modified engine, but they can't quite beat Crysis, at least at this stage.

I like Far Cry, but I wouldnt call myself an expert. :D

Anybody else not impressed by Far Cry here? I feel like I'm all alone.

The graphics and environment were amazing, but the whole shooter aspect and the gameplay just wasn't where it should have been for a game that hyped up. It was always about the graphics.

Story was alright though, I suppose.

I found the KI impressive for it's time.

I really hope this, along with Crisis, makes it over the PS3, and 360 too... (even though I don't own the latter, everyone should be able to play these awesome games.)
