Halloween is truly a great time of year. Not only is it socially acceptable to dress like Grimace from McDonald’s, but you also get free candy. Hmmmm… Purple velvet. Though I am admittedly too old to continue going door-to-door, I still find the holiday quite enjoyable.
My anticipation for the holiday is at a fever pitch this year, as numerous quality titles are set to release in the month of October. These include “Dead Space,” “Guitar Hero: World Tour” and the PS3 version of “Bioshock.”
The critically-acclaimed title is finally making an appearance on Sony’s home console after more than a year of timed exclusivity for the 360 and PC. Check out the new, gorgeous trailer, after the jump.
Initially, I didn’t care that “Bioshock” was beyond my reach (I owned only a PS3 at the time). After all, there were tons of other great games to purchase last fall. However, as the praise and awards began to mount, I quickly developed a desire to explore the city of Rapture.
I will openly admit that I don’t know much about the game beyond the basics (I have attempted to avoid spoilers). However, from what I can gather, the game is a first-person shooter that takes place in the underwater city of Rapture. As the protagonist, you are tasked with exploring Andrew Ryan’s failed utopia, and must use an impressive assortment of guns and special powers to dispose of Rapture’s grotesque inhabitants. These include the Big Daddies and the Little Sisters featured prominently on the PS3 boxart (http://kotaku.com/5032241/bioshock-ps3-box-art-gets-a-do+over).
IGN recently got to spend some time with the game and discussed some of the newer bells and whistles added to the PS3 SKU. Check out the trailer below.
Does anyone else need a new pair of pants?
Excuse me while I add shotguns, tense music, explosions, flaming enemies and a guy in a bird mask to my list of things a trailer must have. I think I even saw someone get frozen and then shattered Sub-Zero style with a shotgun. Can you say awesome?
