I'm seeing everything going on with the hype around Fable 2, and I'm interested. It's a rpg based in traditional settings, but I never played the first one. Is it worth playing. I see where you can download it on xbox live. Will it play okay by today's standards or am I going to feel like I'm playing a dinosaur. I'm not a graphics maven, so I don't care if it looks like halo or halo 2. Just wondering if I will have fun with it. By in large, I've never been happy with console rpg's but this one looks to have some potential - what say ye?

I'd definitely give it a go, it's still a great game in my eyes. It will also get you warmed up for Fable 2.

That said, I'd buy a pre-owned copy, rather than downloading it. It's way cheaper and the game is backwards compatible.

Oh and get Fable: The Lost Chapters, not just Fable. The Lost Chapters has a few extra quests, as well as all the original Fable content.

I'll give that a go if I can find it. . . I'll try the local gamestop this weekend.

It is definately worth it, also the graphics hold their own. It has pretty deep character customization as well. I HIGHLY recommend it. I'm with Eoco on buying TLC there are a few more quests and you get to "wrap up the loose ends"

It is a pretty good game, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is "awesome".
Hopefully Fable 2 will change that.

I mite be the only person like this, but I didn't like Fable that much. Sure it was cool, but it just didn't suck me in like other RPGs. I havn't even finished it yet...

I may give it a try if I can find it used. Mass Effect just ain't cutting it for me.

Fable is a fantastic game, it was very enjoyable for me. The graphics may not be up to todays standards, but they are still good. It sucked me into the gameplay a lot and all of the side quests were a nice feature to an enjoyable game.

Like others though i'd say if you're going to get it get fable TLC just for the extra content.

There is just a crap load of stff to do and the story line is pretty damn good.
Like others have said, if you can grab a copy of Fable cheap pick it up as its atleast worth a play.

Fable brushed against greatness, but never crossed the line. There were so many good ideas in there, but none of them were ever implemented to their fullest. That's why Fable fans are excited for Fable 2. With the power of the Xbox 360, and plenty of development time, Fable 2 should be everything Fable should have been.

No, it's not an RPG by many aspects. It's alot more like an action adventure. That said, it appeals quite well to RPG fans.

If you play Fable and think "This is good, but it could be better," Then you're right on track with everyone else, even people who really like the game.

I'm downloading it now - the hype surrounding the 2nd game has made the used game all but impossible to find. Damn thing is taking forever too. . . 3.24 gigs - yikes

I'm about 6 hours in and I have to say this is the best rpg I've played on a console. I think it is a great game bordering on excellent barring a few bugs and glitches. Definitely looking forward to more time on this one and the sequel.

I would not hesitate to suggest it. Of course I was at another Game Stop and found like 7 copies for $13. Such is life. Go download it. It is well worth it.

yeah its worth playing. thats what i am doing right now. there might be some frame rate issues and be careful of save points it will only load automatic save points there might be be different way but i havent figured it out yet. cant wait for fable 2

The save feature is quirky, but you can do better than just the autosave. If you are not in a quest, you can press the start button and choose "world save". That will save all of your progress. I do it quite often. I've decided I'm buying a copy of this to keep in my collection.

I bought is off XBL but I recommend Pre-owned from shops thats alot cheaper. The answer is yes this game will get you hyped for Fable 2 like me.

For those interested, buy.com has Fable The Lost Chapters for like $15 after shipping. Just ordered one. I'm hoping that it will find my existing game but I'm not hopeful. I plan on replaying it as a totally evil b*stard anyway.

yeah thanks for the world saves. yeah when u are in a quest u have to wait to finish it first to save. if you dont u have to re do the quest. i am playing as a good guy. lol

Finished it as a medium-good guy in 15 hours or so - that's including alot of wandering around and completing the side quests. Good game, there are some magic combos in here though that dang near break it from a challenge standpoint. fyi the lost chapters disc will not find and recognize the save games from the downloaded version.

I Did not have a Xbox so I did not play Fable when it came out.But I Downloaded fable.And it was the best RPG I played in a While.Until mass effect.Which I so great but I have a feeling fable 2 will my new love.You see I don't play alot of RPG.I like U.S rpgs I hate JRPGS.So download it real fast or play the pub games.Both will get you ready.

my fable character has a green face witch i wish i could take off.
