I was just wondering if there was a easier way of transfering music from mac to windows. i've got a 21 gb hard drive and a 1 gb usb but it would take too long as itunes' music folder has an individual folder for each song. Maybe through a ipod?

There are some third party programs that will rip your ipod on to your PC, but nothing supplied by Apple. I used one when I bought a new laptop in Mongolia (long story). But if you've got an external drive, You could just install itunes on the PC and copy the folders on the apple to the appropriate directory on the PC. It's not exactly neat, and it'll be a pain in the arse to play thos files with any other music player, but unfortunately that's a problem with Apple's designs.

there's also one called senuti, but that's not the hard part. the hard part is ipods have to be formatted for either macs or windows' itunes, so if you have yours formatted to play on mac itunes, it won't even show up in windows itunes. however, you may be able to just use it as a hard drive. try copying your music to the ipod via your desktop, rather than through itunes. windows should pick it up as an external HD. you may be able to just drag it off of it then.

it depends on the type of ipod you have....
when i had my ipod nano, (it recently died and went to the apple store to be replaced for a ipod touch) [this only worked when it was sync'ed to Windows] but the Ipod would show up like a flash drive... (i had a 4 gb ipod) but i was able to get all 20 or so GB of music and podcasts onto the ipod hard drive and transfer them from computer to computer....
also, i *think* you can put them up in the shared network, so if you have both computers running, you can send them to it that way... (mind you it might take all day to do it)
if you need more help on it, just tell me... or somone else can probbly help if im not around...
