Inzader 08-24-2008, 09:20 PM Don't buy one... Wii play is fun for 3 times.
SSBB loses it's fun affter bout 156 hours of play (I guess that's not that bad).
And Galaxies is the only game worth it. Oh, and Boom Blox.
Mines been collecting dust for 3 months or so. Sorry for being a downer.
I Can Stop Time 08-24-2008, 09:24 PM well it was out of the ps3 and wii but i'd rather have a console me and a few friends can just have a bit of a laugh with in my living room rather then sitting up in my room playing an fps or gta every time they come over
RaiseHavok 08-24-2008, 09:30 PM I recommend Mario Kart Wii and Galaxy.

I bet the reason that you have over 1k posts was because of spam like that
Hungry Luma 08-25-2008, 03:15 PM But Galaxy, Kart, Boom Blox, SSBB, and most games with a Nintendo logo on them.
nathanhale 08-25-2008, 03:29 PM Arggh you picked the Wii? Oh well to each his own. Although it isn't stopping me from selling the system Mario Galaxy is badass and one of my favorite games of the gen so far.
jcblough 08-25-2008, 03:40 PM gamecube controllers are a must as smashbros and mario kart are best played with them. . . the zelda port is good, but to be honest man - the content is thin after the nintendo titles. I've had mine for around a year and got my xbox360 just this january and I own about 4x the xbox titles than wii titles. In that respect, it has been a letdown. What you have listed will be quite a hardware investment - the number of titles you'll get out if it worth thinking on.
raynes 08-25-2008, 04:48 PM It really all depends on what types of games you like to play. Here are my recommendations:
Sports: MLB Power Pro's. Don't let the kiddy graphics fool you. It's one of the most indepth baseball games on any system. The controls are easy to learn.
I HIGHLY suggest you buy the wii blaster. Then buy any or all of the following: Ghost Squad, Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles, House of the Dead 2 &3 returns.
De Blob will be coming out in a month and having played the demo on the PC, it will rock.
Resident Evil 4 is a great game also.
Diortem 08-26-2008, 06:40 AM Im going to say to get the gamecube controller as well, though not for Mario Kart. Honestly, I love playing that WiiWheel. Add a gamecube memory card to that too.... because if you havent played Metroid Prime 1 or 2, get them as well. And DONT miss 3. Seriously, one of my favorite games... period.
Ploogle 08-26-2008, 06:09 PM Twilight Princess is an amazing game. Get it. Don't listen to people complaining about the totally optional waggle controls...they make the game so much more entertaining.
I also suggest getting a few WiiWare or Virtual Console games. For about the same price as a normal game, you can get a bunch of older games that are still fun.
Lastly, I warn you against getting any accessory for the Wii for which there is no tangible increase in either quality or ease of use. Meaning: stay away from the crap wiimote accessories that place in your hands $20 worth of crap foam and plastic that doesn't do anything.

ouch... no, I don't spam, that was meant to be short and to the point
Shaha44 08-29-2008, 02:10 AM Honestly, I have had a Wii since May 2007. I like it but, my PS3 gets used a whole helluva of alot more. Super Mario Galaxy is a kick ass game, but other than that, my Wii has been turned off for about 4 months straight...

C'mon Ploogle! You're saying that you don't love the plastic sword and shield you can use for LOZ to look like a loser?
Take that advice.
Get Twilight Princess, SM Galaxy, Mario Kart, SSB Brawl and Boom Blox.
Kashmir 08-29-2008, 02:18 PM I still play on my wii from time to time, and it's still pretty fun. I just wish some more high profile releases in the future. However, if you don't mind going into the wii back-catalogue, the virtual console and the gamecube, you'll find some hidden gems. Consider picking up Metroid Prime 1/2 and Pikmin.
Just don't expect anything good to be released later on.

I agree that the Gamecube controller is the controller for Brawl (especially if you owned Melee). However, I found the Wiimote and nunchunk combo to be the best way to play Mario Kart Wii. Though, that is just personal preference.

Well, more like dont go in looking for a regular cycle. With the volume of the audience, I would think more good stuff will be on the way... OH and for now (since it seems producers take stupid pills whenever something genuinely new comes out) dont expect anything good from anyone but Nintendo themselves. (Come on guys, Im still waiting till you (meaning the big N) tells us THEY will publish Conduit.)

Go ahead and buy one, the way they are still selling like crack there isn't anyone that is going to throw you a deal to get you to buy it, wii sports does come with, but as it has been said don't waste the time with wii play, or wii bathroom scale, just get rabid rabbits and if you don't have one of the super smash pick that up too, but also think when your buying, how often will it get used, and its always funner with group
TheNonBeliever 09-08-2008, 10:11 AM get super mario galaxy
metroid prime 3
mario kart wii
no more heroes
medal of honor heroes 2
loz tp
super paper mario
super smash bros brawl
zack and wiki
bloom box
blast works

Definitely agree. I hated both games without that setup.
SpecJoe Magic 09-11-2008, 03:54 PM I consider the Wii to be a "secondary system." What I mean is that I probably wouldn't want just a Wii and nothing else, but it's a fun system to have in addition to a 360 and/or PS3. I have a 360 and PS3 that I use for many games, but there are a few outstanding games that are Wii exclusives, and some of them are especially enjoyable when you have others to play with you. It's really all about what you are looking for in a system. The Wii does tend to have more casual party games than the other systems, for example. That may or may not be the type of thing you desire.
Here are my favorite games for the system in no particular order:
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Zelda: Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Warioware: Smooth Moves
Mario Kart Wii
Also, I haven't played them yet, but I've heard great things about Okami (though you may have played it on PS2 already) and Boom Blox.
Of course, you can purchase old games from past systems (Sega Genesis, Super NES, etc.), and there are some original downloadable games called WiiWare.
I can't tell you whether or not it's the right system for you, but I hope this information helps you to make a decision.
strika234 09-11-2008, 03:58 PM just don't buy a classic controller. I don't know why i did, but it is a horrible idea. DON'T.
topgamer95 09-11-2008, 04:49 PM boom blox is a great game for the wii
