Both of these games are community based games. The amount of fun you get from them are proportional to the amount of people playing and creativity of those players.

Both of these games are highly anticipacted and while they may not be on the same platform, I still think they may do battle because there is only 24 hours in a day...and only so much creativity to go around.

So, who do you guys think is going to win the battle of the creative minds?

LBP or Spore?

Creativity wise?
Sales wise?
Fun size wise?

I vote Spore...the idea of creating creatures appeals to me more in Spore than level creation in LBP.

This really should not be on the PS3 forums at all, because, as you said, they arent on the same platform. This should be moved to Multiplatform or The Lobby.

Anyway, I voted LBP :D .

In retrospect.....yes...yes it should....BUT! if Spore comes to the PS3 by some twist of Will Wrightousness then it works....

I don't think my computer can run Spore, plus, it doesn't really seem interesting to me.

now this was the toughest two question poll i think i've ever seen on here. i voted LBP, because i misread the question. i thought it read, "which game will make use of your creativity more" (or something along those lines), because LBP will definitely use more of my creativity. Spore however, will most likely suck more hours from my life than LBP can even attempt.

I say Little Big Planet, simply because it will have more creative ideas that make you think, instead of "Oh, a Pikachu creature. How nice." (along with other, possibly tasteless varieties.)

Spore looks great cant wait 4 it but Lbp is the winner 4 me. Lbp seems to b the most creative game out of the 2.

I am not that interested in spore at the moment. I am really looking forward to LBP though. Game is going to be cool.

LittleBigPlanet for sure. you can only make creatures in spore while in LBP you can customize your character and make levels.

Spore definitely, with Creature Creation, different stages of life including a dungeon-crawler-esque stage and a space stage.

Spore for me. Spore definatlety seems to be on a much larger scale than LBP. I was nearly won over by LBP, due to it's proper online functionality, but in Spore I am able to enslave my friends race of beings and use them as a human shild to invade another galaxy, which win it for me.

Plus, I'm having so much fun just with the creature creator, my head may explode with happiness when September 5th rolls around.

Play.com FTW. Release Day delivery at no extra charge. Sweet.

LBP will rape Spore in terms of sales. Fun I think they will be the same except I think LBP will last me longer. Creativity hell yest you can make whatever you want in LBP

There is a deep irony, when you consider the games you are talking about. Spore will own most of my creative time outside of uni this year, hopefully next year too. I've played LBP and it was really fun, but I have already put in enough time on the creature creator to top the ammount of time I could put into LBP.

Is this going to get moved into the general section? seems a bit unfair to have it here, although Spore is doing pretty well!

Hey I am not a fanboy! Calling me a fanboy puts me in the opposite side of the same boat as Randomperson!!!! And that is worth a declaration of war in my book. I'm a fan not fanboy.
What I mean is that games on a console almost always sell more on a console... Lmao i suddenly have a vision of sacboy but raping somthing

If there was no piracy in the world, I'd say Spore would outsell LBP.

Bioshock 1.9 million 360 sales less than a million on PC

Thats only because of piracy as shane said, Do you think most people are going to pay for a game when they could just get it for free from teh internetz?

only about 20% of all PC games are purchased, most are downloaded. From the Dev's mouth
the number of people playing [Call of Duty] online is amazing, but the number of people who have actually bought the game is much lower

edit point was already made. It still stands, though.

Two Educated PC gamers prove my point. Spore will probably be pirated and LBP will not leading to massive sales for LBP and decent sales for Spore. And off I go.

yeah, but you can't play on legit servers when you download the game... and honestly, (speaking from experience from past COD games) there are never very many cracked servers... so most of those people who downloaded the game have only played the single player, where-as the multiplayer is it's bread and butter... my point is, i think COD4 has less of a piracy rate than most PC (especially single player) games.

This is tough, they are both going to be great games. Spore looks more interesting to me because I never was a fan for creating levels like in LBP.

Yeah, from what I hear IW were pretty good with their online efforts to crack (see what I did thar?) down on piracy. Anyway, I just realised that Nathanhale was talking about sales and this is about creative time. Spore gets a pretty big headstart, so anyone who gets thqat will have to play the heck out of LBP when it comes out.

Ever since I first saw Spore I thought it looked like complete ass, it's trying to be kiddy and charming but cant pull it off, amazingly underwhelming visuals. Everything to me just screams boring with this game, I had that same feeling about the Sims, never liked Will Wrights games and Spore will not change that fact probably. Level (a good swedish gaming magazine) recently gave it an 8/10 and I dont expect much more from other publications.

Now Little Big Planet on the other hand looks very much marketable, sackboy to me is iconic, the game looks amazing visually and very much fun. It's innovative, it's quircky and it's getting pushed big time by Sony as the most impotant title for 2007 (their words).

To me it's a wash.

Do you live in sweeden? If so do you have that magazine? The only notification on the interwebz of that review is here (http://www.nintendoeverything.com/?p=2879) where they say that the 8 is out of 8. I can't understand what is up with this magazine though, because Braid was 10. Anyway, I always thought that Spore wasn't really about the graphics, more about the game.

Yes I have it, it's very good and I buy it often. Here is what they have for pros and cons:

Pros:

- Infinite amount of options for customizing your creature
- The online functions are very innovative

Cons:

- 4 out of 5 game modes are way to farmiliar
- Was life really this cute
- The swedish translation is crap (does not really matter though)

It got two 8's in that magazine, maybe that's why it says that. THe other one is a minor review thats pretty much a second opinion.

It's summed up neatly with "Anyone wanting a perfect digital simulation of life and the ecosystem will be very dissapointed. Spore is a game divided into five chapters that on their own would not hold up at all, but as a whole it's a worthwhile expirience."

I translated that pretty quickly, but you get the point probably. PC Gamer UK gave it 91% and some german mag 71%, both of course out of 100.

I put it here by accident, it should be in Multiplat. If a mod could move it as a whole that would be great, but I don't know if they can move everything without re-doing everything.
