Beating Writer's Block
Posted 11-29-2008 at 12:56 PM by Yamster
Hello SGC, it's been a while.
It's been a hell of a ride since I last wrote in this here forum blog; since July I've been to Ireland twice, I've started university, I've began Twittering (that's yamstersg, by the way; I hardly blog about games) and I've bought hardly any games because, like everyone else, I've been feeling the strain of the economic downtown and my student loan has barely covered my train fares for each month. What's more, with the aforementioned downtown, job pickings are all but non-existent and so my disposable income is practically null.
All-in-all then, I'm a little on the stressed side, and I'm lacking inspiration and motivation when it comes to writing for SG. The love for the site's still here, without a doubt, but lately I've just found myself disconnected from whatever motivation to write I had before, and I'm trying to get it back.
Serious case of writer's block then. Any tips, guys?

The one piece of advice on writers block that I read, that helps me with the comic is this; Writers block is not a lack of ideas, just a failure to commit to one. We all know your a good writer Yamster - if you were writing about cheese, it would probably be worth reading.
We are all having a hard time keeping up with the games coming out and I can imagine that doing this at the same time as doing Uni can be tough, especially if your writing a lot for your classes. |
