Those Burnout Paradise Notes

Posted 07-11-2008 at 03:15 PM by Yamster
Those of you who have had a read of my Burnout Paradise Cagney update impressions will have noted that I used some scrawled A4 notes to round off the article, namely by printing "THIS IS AWESOME!!" in the sketchy mess I like to call my handwriting.

For an insight into my utterly insane and potentially dangerous mind (and the appropriately-similar handwriting), you can have a wee gander at the notes here. There's not much, pretty much just the features that Cagney threw into...

Picture the scene: Liberty City, 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Brucie and I roll up outside the bar in downtown Algonquin in our Landstalker and proceed to get smashed off our faces.

4 o'clock, and we emerge utterly sh*tfaced from the bar, ready to drive home. Naturally, our drunken driving antics attract the attention of John Q. Law, who's soon on our tail with sirens blazing and gunshots ringing out from the passenger window. A few drunken smashes and a few unlucky gunshots later,...

So it's not really that strange of me to utterly stampede my way through Metal Gear Solid 4 in a matter of hours via two sleepless nights.

Not that they were bad nights, not at all....

I think I've broken Gran Turismo

Picture the scene. Fuji Speedway, Japan. Long, arching circuit with a lot of straights and wide, gentle corners; ideal territory for any top-end supercar.

The grid is set - my opponents, five of them, in Ferraris, Audi supercars and high-class Mercedes coupes. Me in a totty little Lancer Evolution. My Japanese workhorse against their European muscle and flair.

It's obvious who's going to come last, isn't it? Even when...

An update on the Soul Calibur IV protest

PARIS, FRANCE - Following the recent protests by Soul Calibur IV's female fighters over the skimpiness of their clothes, Namco have delivered a formal response to the actions taken by the gaming characters: their clothes will now fall off.

To put it simply, fighters who succeed in unleashing a devastating smackdown on their opponents will cause their foe's armour to drop off, bit-by-bit, until there...
