Halo Waypoint
So I tried it. It's kinda cool, truth be told, except for one part.
The part where it's a giant ****ing shill to get you to play ODST.
I like the stories, I like the waypoint and achievement tracking, I LOVE the avatar rewards. However, of the 11 rewards, only 1 is obtainable by doing anything other than playing ODST and getting specific achievements.
You get Spark 343 as an avatar prop for signing into Waypoint. The rest are all locked as mentioned above. Really? So for 100% on Halo 3 (Pre-1.1) I get nothing? Nothing at all except self-congratulations? Not one stinkin' avatar award for any of the achievements in your flag-ship title or your meh RTS spin-off?
Evidently not.
Edit: It's been brought to my attention that only 9 of the 11 awards are from ODST, 2 are from Halo Wars. Thanks for proving my point even more!
