When I first heard that they were remaking V for TV again I was excited. After all Battlestar Galactica taught us that a remake of an old sci-fi standard can be great. The only problem with this is that the source material for V is lacking at best. The original series was a little cheesy even by 1980 standards. Yet the acting pedigree in this show is better than any TV fan could hope for. Cast members from many great shows show up here, from Lost to Firefly. Oh and Scott Wolf makes an appearance...

No this is not about Grin shutting their doors. Even though after that new Bionic Commando game are you surprised? "It's my wife?" Finish the game and you will know what i am talking about. What ever.
No instead it was a demoralizing day for me for two reasons.

#1 I can not seem to finish 'splosion man. It seems strange that for a game that lets you skip every other level it doesn't scale down the last boss fight. Maybe after you die 15000 times he can...

A few weeks ago i tried playing Super Mario again. I was shocked when I realized how much timing and coordination those games still take. I was beginning to think that we wouldn't see that kind of challenges in games anymore. Then my eyes were opened by Splosion Man. I don't know if that is how you spell it or not.
For those of you that don't know Splosion man is the first of five games in XBL's Summer of Arcade. I have to say if the other 4 games are as strong as this one i am on board....

Okay i have played a lot of new games lately. none of them were really spectacular. I went over to a friends house tonight and we were sitting around drinking and started playing Super Mario Bro. 3. I forgot how much i like that game. I have to face the fact that old platformers and vodka do not mix. It was still a fun time. This just pushes me toward buying a wii... lets face it. Nintendo knows what we want. and right now after a few drinks all i wanna do is play though super mario world again.......
