The run from the alarm van is easily the coolest moment in the demo. It's so hard to go back for someone who goes down once they're at least one fence away from you, and you can just back up and pick off hordes that keep charging down these narrow alleys.
Melee weapons aren't really anything to write home about, although I haven't gotten the chainsaw yet. They're slower than the knockback, it feels like, so I'd rather just push and shoot. Also, I didn't think that it would replace my pistol. With less ammo this time around, that's not cool.
Overall, though, I really prefer how they handle the weapons to the original L4D. In the first game, you'd never see anyone grab the hunting rifle, but in this game you may have no choice if it's the only thing laying around once that AK runs out of ammo.
I'll be back on there later today. I still haven't encountered a tank after 4 playthroughs. Add Tha Bl4ck Sp4nk if we're not already friends.

Yes, the run to shut off the alarm is fantastic, I can't wait to see what the other campaigns have like this.
Each to their own on the melee, but I could quite happily run throw a campaign using only the guitar, if just for the sound it makes. The defibrillator was a pretty good addition too.
As for the hunting rifle in L4D, I've seen numerous people using it effectively, it's not as useless as people make it out to be, however I'm glad it's been replaced with a better one that actually fires more than one shot every 5 seconds. Ammo was never a problem in the 5 playthroughs I've just done.
It was ok. The SCAR, suppressed Uzi, and machete are so far the only notable weapons for me. The weapons locations are more realistic in the way that they're more spread out and some moments you have have to use the sniper rifle (which in L4D was highly underrated). The sense of desperation is more apearant as well and the whole game just feels heavier.
The level atmosphere on the demo level was well done, it was not as scary as a night time run, but really who would move at solely at night anyway?
Its only 3 chapters but pretty replayable for a demo.
I think you mean 2 chapters.
I've had the demo for a week now (via pre-order) and I'm still up to playing it with some community members who have just downloaded it. Send me some friend requests.

I've got to agree with the run to shut off the alarm. That part was really intense.
I really like the new assault rifle and silenced SMG. The melee weapons are alright, but I can's see myself using them too much. I also like the new special infected, but I've yet to see a Tank. Anyone know if they'll still be here?
