Why is Apple #1 in customer service?

I sent in my Macbook Pro on Saturday.

I told them "I'm getting no video out."

They said "alright. no problem. we'll fix 'ANYTHING ELSE' wrong with it.

I got it back today...

they replaced my mangled and bent casing where I DROPPED IT, replaced the keyboard with the 2 missing keys I dropped a video camera onto, AND replaced my entire top case because it wasn't closing tightly.

Now, I know you guys are PC fanatics, but I don't have an extended warranty and none of this cost me a thing.

Tell me who else takes care of their customers like that?

Oh my! That is splendid! But even greater is the knowledge that my PC functions perfectly without any need for repair whatsoever. Your Mac, sadly, cannot boast such.

cuz they have less computers to fix cuz they sell less computers than any other company so they have the free time to do stuff like this. Macs arent bad but they are vastly outnumbered. Apple is still alive because of the ipod and iphone, not their computers

Macs are cool yet PCs are better. But I have to admit that no other company would do that

They replaced one of my old ipod free of charge. I didn't even have a plan for it.

If you really look at the company as a whole, Apple has the perfect setup. They make the hardware, software and have complete control over almost every variable. While this is great if you want the company to do everything for you, I much prefer the PC because I can pick and chose from companies based on each ones area of expertise. Mac on the other hand has complete control over the hardware you get put into your computer, while there is a small level of customization.

Also Macs are way more expensive.

Yea, there just keeping you sweet, if a customer gets good service he will tell all his friends and family, and they will in turn and in this case a whole online community. And whe you think about the amount of money all of those people including yourself will now spend at Apple extra its well worth it for them.

I have a similar story. I dropped my first zune and totally f'ed it up but MS replaced it for free even though it was clearly my own stupid ass that had broke it.
