I was expecting the vault to have precisely what was inside. It's story was exactly the same as Paper Mario 2's. You go on a treasure hunt to open a sacred door that only opens every x number of years with the legend of a great treasure being behind it, but it's really just an incredibly old monster/demon/alien.

Well usually said monster/demon/alien is guarding some treasure. Who enters a dragon's lair just to fight the dragon? Nobody. Dragons collect treasure, damnit, and I want that treasure.

The disappointing thing for me was that you didn't get to fight the leader of the merc group because the Old One wannabe killed her in the cut scene.
