So, after having played Dragon Age: Origins for about two (probably more like 4) hours, I'm gonna go ahead and say that Bioware has done it again. I liked Borderlands, and, for a shooter that has RPG elements, it does it really nicely. However, Dragon Age takes the cake. Any ideas on a different RPG that could win?
Well considering Borderlands and Dragon Age: Origins are like apples and coconuts, I have a hard time seeing the comparison between the two. I have Borderlands, and LOVE it, and by morning will be playing Dragon Age. So far, it sounds like it's living up to the hype and then some. But they are two different games, really.

well, those are just the two RPGs that I'm playing right now. But yeah, I definitely agree with you that Borderlands and DA are two completely different games. What other RPGs have come out this year though that could compete against DA?

I am completely addicted to Dragon Age right now. So many great RPG's out right now Borderlands, Demon's Souls, Dragon Age.... hard to say which I wasnt for GoY.... but Dragon Age is definitely the front runner I think.
I must say, Borderlands looks splendid and I much enjoyed my romp through Fallout 3, but this year has sadly been dull for me RPG-wise. I may give Dragon Age: Origins a chance, thanks to your review!

Other RPGs of 2009? I haven't played too many. Dragon Age: Origins will be the first real RPG that has come out this year I'll play. I'm playing Fallout 3 (3rd playthrough), and have concurrent games in Oblivion and Morrowind. Those games never really get old for me, so I haven't needed to look too hard to find more recent releases.

SO for those who are further into the game how is the story holding up and the ranged combat too?
Just seen this comment from an 'old community' saying the story is pretty lame and is Biowares weakest game so far...just wanted to hear your thoughts.
