SCEE have launched their own edition of the PSN portable ID on what they're calling "My PlayStation Network". Dare I say it...it looks nicer than the American one. With Myspace-style mood choice and a bit of customisation involved (the background, and that's about it) you can also check who's online through the service and register your consoles to get into prize draws.

In future you'll be able to view your trophies too. All in all, not too shabby!

What exactly is it for?

It's a bit like the Gamercard signatures you get for Xbox LIVE users. Just shows your username and the like in forum signatures or on a website.

I got mine yesterday ^^ They are alright, they will be better when they add triophies and a few more games/backgrounds.

The 'game choices' are kinda limited.

The chances are they'll expand with more work but since it's just a launch minimal content is probably to be expected.
